Edward Rea

Edward has over 100 Casting credits in film, TV & multimedia. Notable clients include Universal, MGM, The CW, Netflix & EA. Edward has cast films with premiers worldwide including Cannes, Toronto & Vancouver International Film Festivals.

Recent credits include: the Palm d’Or nominated “OKJA” from Oscar winner Bong Joon-ho starring Jake Gyllenhaal & Tilda Swinton. “SINNER” writers “ROMEO SECTION” for the CBC by veteran showrunner Chris Haddock for which he received a Leo award for best ensemble casting. The Emmy nominated series “Project Mc2 – Season 2,” “DRONE” starring Sean Bean, the hyped horror film “RESiDUE” with cult cameos from Matt Frewer, William B. Davis & Costas Mandylor & the dance spectacle “BRING IT ON: INTERNATIONAL”.

In 2020 you will see some of his most anticipated works with the feature documentary “WRITING BETHUNE” in which Edward secured Canadian acting legend Donald Sutherland.

Edward has assisted in the management of talent for over a decade at various top talent agencies. His comprehensive experience in the area of talent management and development has made Edward a sought after commodity in many forums across Canada. As a workshop instructor, Edward brings a unique background spanning over 20 years with experience as an actor, agent, casting director and now producer. He has been requested at top acting facilities nationwide for sold-out workshops.

Through his work as a frequent guest instructor on industry topics, Edward has been called on by such institutions as Emily Carr, Vancouver Film School, Vancouver Youth Theatre, Actorvan, Biz Studios, Act One Studios, Vancouver Acting School, New Image College of Fine Arts, PullFocus Film School, the Rock Star Academy & Anthony Meindl`s Actor Workshop.

His involvement and outreach in the entertainment community continues to expand by volunteering as a Casting Director workshop host & film selection panelist with the Vancouver Queer Film Festival 4 years running, Vancouver’s Crazy 8’s in 2016, and consulting with new productions, teaming them with industry leaders.
